Hi, I’m Sophie. I like dogs, books, and friends. I love to cook, I love to eat, I love to feed people. I tend to list things in threes. I don’t think cookies actually solve problems, but I think that they help, and even if they don’t you still have cookies. I discovered cooking and baking at university, which was a challenge since all I had at my disposal tended to be two portable hobs. I realised that making my own food is more cost effective than buying it and I get to choose exactly what it tastes like, and I’ve never looked back. Since then I got married and moved into a wonderful flat with an oven of my own, so in my spare time I like to fill it with tasty things.

I plan to fill this blog with (reasonably) healthy, kosher recipes with calorie counts and approximate cooking times. It’s how I think about food, and I prefer to use recipes that give me those things. My husband and I are big fans of chocolate and baked cheese, so there’s going to be a lot of those. He likes fish. I like spicy, tasty food that is low enough in calories to let me have dessert. We don’t tend to eat much meat. Occasionally I get obsessed with a particular ingredient. Often that ingredient is strawberries.
